The SANDVIK COROMANT 5756561 is a WNMG432-MR 2035 grade solid carbide turning insert designed for precision external turning operations. It features a PVD-applied TiAlN and TiN dual coating that supports extended tool life in demanding cutting conditions. The insert carries a neutral hand orientation and an 80-degree trigon shape, providing six usable cutting edges per insert. At 0.3105 inches in length with a 1/2-inch inscribed circle and a 1/32-inch corner radius, it fits standard WNMG toolholders. This insert is installed by CNC machinists and toolroom technicians on lathes and turning centers handling stainless steel workpieces.
This insert is primarily suited for turning stainless steel (ISO material group M), where the MR chip breaker geometry promotes controlled chip formation and consistent surface finish. The T-Max P series is engineered for general external turning, profiling, and facing operations on CNC lathes and manual turning centers. The MR geometry is well matched to medium-depth finishing and semi-finishing passes. It is compatible with standard WNMG insert pockets using clamp or pin holding methods, making it a direct fit for a wide range of WNMG-style toolholders in production and job-shop environments.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement insert for standard WNMG-style turning toolholders. ISO code WNMG 08 04 08-MR 2035 can be used to cross-reference compatible toolholder pockets. No specific machine or toolholder model compatibility was provided in the product data.
Insert replacement should be performed by qualified machinists or toolroom personnel with the machine fully powered down and the spindle locked before accessing the toolholder. Use the appropriate torque wrench and clamp screws specified by the toolholder manufacturer when securing the insert. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surface for chips or debris before seating a new insert. Follow the toolholder manufacturer's clamping instructions to avoid insert rocking or premature edge failure.
