The SANDVIK COROMANT 5756326 is a solid carbide turning insert in the WNMG 06 04 04-MF 2025 ISO designation, designed for external and internal turning operations on stainless steel workpieces. It carries a CVD-applied multilayer coating of TiCN, Al2O3, and TiN, which provides wear resistance and thermal protection during continuous and interrupted cuts. The 2025 grade and MF chip breaker geometry are matched for medium to finishing passes on austenitic and ferritic stainless steel grades. With 6 usable cutting edges per insert, this tooling delivers consistent per-edge economy on high-volume turning programs. Licensed machinists and CNC operators working with T-Max P toolholders will find this a direct fit.
This insert belongs to the Sandvik Coromant T-Max P series, engineered primarily for stainless steel (ISO material group M) turning applications. It suits both production turning centers and manual engine lathes equipped with compatible WNMG-style toolholders. Typical applications include shaft turning, facing, and profile work where controlled chip evacuation and edge security on work-hardening materials are priorities. The neutral hand orientation makes it usable in both right- and left-hand toolholder configurations without a separate insert variant.
Designed for use with Sandvik Coromant T-Max P series WNMG-style toolholders. ISO designation WNMG 06 04 04-MF 2025 confirms fitment with any toolholder accepting the WNMG 06 04 insert seat. Clamp and pin holding method must be verified against the toolholder specification before installation.
Indexing and insert changes should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician with the machine fully stopped and the spindle locked. Use the appropriate Torx or hex key torque tool as specified by the toolholder manufacturer when seating the clamp screw. Inspect the insert seat and clamp for chips or debris before installing a fresh edge. Never run a visibly fractured or chipped insert, as edge failure on stainless steel can result in workpiece damage and toolholder seat erosion.
