The SANDVIK COROMANT 5756026 is a VNMG332-MF turning insert in the T-Max P series, designed for precision external turning on CNC lathes and turning centers. Manufactured from solid carbide with a CVD-applied multilayer coating of TiCN, Al2O3, and TiN, this insert delivers wear resistance and thermal stability across demanding cutting applications. The insert measures 0.6223 inches in length with a 3/8-inch inscribed circle, a 3/16-inch thickness, and a 1/32-inch corner radius. With four available cutting edges and a neutral hand orientation, it is well-suited for production environments where insert economy and consistent tool life matter. Licensed machinists and CNC operators performing general turning and finishing operations on stainless steel are the primary installers.
This insert is engineered primarily for machining stainless steel (ISO material group M), making it appropriate for aerospace, food processing, medical, and industrial fabrication applications where austenitic and duplex stainless alloys are commonly turned. The MF chip breaker geometry supports medium to finishing depth-of-cut ranges, producing controlled chip formation at moderate feeds. The 35-degree diamond (V) insert shape provides a sharp cutting angle for clean entry into workpieces while the N clearance and M tolerance codes conform to standard VNMG toolholder pocket requirements.
Designed for use in standard VNMG toolholder pockets with clamp or pin holding systems. The ISO designation VNMG 16 04 08-MF 2025 identifies the pocket geometry requirements. Confirm holder pocket tolerance and clearance specifications match the M tolerance and N clearance codes before installation.
Installation is performed by a qualified CNC machinist or toolroom technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate insert key or torque wrench per the toolholder manufacturer's seating procedure to avoid cracking the carbide substrate. Inspect the toolholder pocket seating surface for chips or wear before inserting a new edge, as a contaminated pocket will compromise edge life and surface finish.
