The SANDVIK COROMANT 5755863 is a solid carbide, uncoated turning insert designed for precision metal cutting in CNC turning applications. Carrying the VCGX333-AL H10 designation, this insert features a 35-degree diamond shape with a neutral hand orientation and a 3/64 inch (0.0469 inch) corner radius. It belongs to the CoroTurn 107 series and is engineered for use on non-ferrous metals as its primary workpiece material, with superalloy and titanium as secondary target materials. With two cutting edges and screw-style holding, it delivers consistent performance in high-precision turning operations performed by machinists and CNC operators.
This insert is suited for light to medium turning passes on non-ferrous metals such as aluminum, as well as superalloys and titanium, making it a fit for aerospace, medical, and general precision machining environments. The AL chip breaker geometry is optimized for the free-cutting characteristics required when working these materials. The CoroTurn 107 series platform is commonly found on CNC lathes and turning centers where screw-clamped insert tooling is standard. Both job shops and production environments use this insert style for external and internal profiling operations.
Designed for use in CoroTurn 107 series screw-clamped turning tool holders that accept VCGX-style inserts with a 3/8 inch inscribed circle and screw-hole holding method. ISO designation VCGX 16 04 12-AL H10 can be used to cross-reference compatible toolholder pockets.
Insert installation and replacement should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician with the machine fully stopped and locked out. Use the appropriate Torx or hex key as specified by the toolholder manufacturer when securing the clamping screw — do not over-torque. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surface for chips or debris before seating the new insert. Verify insert orientation and hand designation against the toolholder specification before resuming operation.
