The SANDVIK COROMANT 5755694 is a solid carbide turning insert in the CoroTurn 107 series, designed for precision external turning operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. It carries the ISO designation VBMT 11 03 08-MF 2015 and features a CVD-applied tri-layer coating of TiCN, Al2O3, and TiN, optimizing wear resistance and heat control during cutting. The 35-degree diamond insert shape (V) provides a sharp, low-cutting-force geometry suited for profiling and finishing passes. With an MF chip breaker and neutral hand orientation, this insert handles stainless steel as its primary workpiece material, making it a go-to choice for machinists running tight-tolerance parts in corrosion-resistant alloys.
This insert is sized at 0.4044 inches in length with a 1/4-inch inscribed circle and a 1/32-inch corner radius, giving it a compact footprint appropriate for finish turning and light profiling on both bar stock and turned components. The MF chip breaker geometry is optimized for medium finishing cuts on stainless steel and other ISO M-grade materials. It is screw-held and fits toolholders designed for VBMT-style inserts with a B clearance code and M tolerance class. Sold individually, with a minimum order quantity of 10 units.
Designed for use in VBMT-style screw-clamp toolholders with B clearance and M tolerance designations. Compatible with CoroTurn 107 series toolholders accepting VBMT 11 03 08 inserts. Primary workpiece material code M (stainless steel); also applicable to other ISO M-grade materials as specified by the end user and toolholder manufacturer.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC toolroom personnel. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing inserts. Use the appropriate Torx or hex key for the clamping screw and do not overtighten, as this can crack the carbide body. Inspect the seating pocket for chips or debris before installing a new insert to ensure proper contact and edge indexing.
