The SANDVIK COROMANT 5755443 is a solid carbide turning insert in the CoroTurn TR series, designed for precision external turning operations on CNC and manual lathes. Designated grade H13A, this insert is uncoated (bright finish) and features a 60-degree diamond shape with a neutral hand orientation. It measures 13.00 mm in length with a 13.00 mm inscribed circle and a 0.79 mm (1/32 inch) corner radius. With 2 cutting edges and a screw-type holding method, it delivers consistent performance in high-accuracy turning applications where carbide toughness and edge integrity are critical.
This insert is intended for turning steel and stainless steel workpieces, corresponding to ISO material codes P and M respectively. The F chip breaker geometry supports finishing and light to medium cutting passes where tight tolerances and surface finish quality are the priority. It is installed by machinists and CNC operators in toolrooms, production shops, and job shops running turning centers or engine lathes equipped with compatible CoroTurn TR toolholders. The maximum depth of cut reaches 12.20 mm (0.4803 inches), accommodating a practical range of finishing operations.
Designed for use with CoroTurn TR series toolholders that accept TRVB-style, screw-clamped diamond turning inserts with a 3.40 mm hole diameter. Primary workpiece materials are steel (ISO code P) and stainless steel (ISO code M).
Installation and indexing of turning inserts should be performed by qualified machinists or CNC operators with the machine powered down, spindle locked, and all stored energy released before servicing the toolholder. Use the appropriate Torx or hex key specified by the toolholder manufacturer to seat the clamping screw to the correct feel without over-torquing the insert pocket. Inspect the insert seat and screw threads for debris or wear before seating a new insert. Follow the toolholder manufacturer guidelines for insert orientation and chip breaker positioning relative to the workpiece approach angle.
