The SANDVIK COROMANT 5753915 is a TNMG332MF 1115 grade coated carbide turning insert designed for precision finishing operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. It carries a TiAlN and AlCr2O3 dual-layer PVD coating that delivers high wear resistance and sustained edge life when cutting stainless steel and superalloys. The triangular 60-degree insert geometry provides six usable cutting edges per insert. With a 0.375-inch inscribed circle, a 0.1875-inch thickness, and a 0.0315-inch corner radius, this insert fits standard TNMG-style toolholders and handles maximum depths of cut up to 0.6181 inches. It is a neutral-hand insert compatible with both clamp and pin holding methods.
This insert is suited for finishing passes on stainless steel (ISO material group M) and special and super alloys including titanium (ISO material group S). Typical applications include external turning, facing, and light profiling where tight surface finish tolerances and consistent tool life are required. The MF chip breaker geometry is optimized for the low feed rates and controlled chip formation characteristic of finishing operations in stainless and high-temperature alloy components. It fits into the Sandvik Coromant T-Max P toolholder series and is identified by ISO code TNMG 16 04 08-MF 1115.
Designed for use in TNMG-style toolholders within the Sandvik Coromant T-Max P series. ANSI insert code TNMG332, ISO insert code TNMG160408. Compatible with standard TNMG clamp and pin retention toolholders accepting a 0.375-inch inscribed circle triangular insert.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician with the machine in a fully stopped and locked-out state before indexing or replacing inserts. Ensure the insert pocket and seating surfaces are clean and free of chips or debris before seating the new insert. Verify the insert is fully seated and the clamping mechanism is secured before resuming cutting operations. Do not exceed the recommended maximum depth of cut for the grade and chip breaker in use.
