The SANDVIK COROMANT 5752928 is a solid carbide milling insert designed for precision metal removal in milling applications. It carries the H10 manufacturer grade and an uncoated bright finish, making it well suited for non-ferrous metals and cast iron where a coating would not provide additional benefit. The triangular insert shape provides three usable cutting edges, and the positive rake geometry reduces cutting forces during operation. With a 0.5000-inch inscribed circle and a 0.1250-inch thickness, this insert fits toolholders designed to the TFA series standard. Machinists and tooling technicians working in production or job-shop environments are the primary installers and users.
This insert is applied in face milling and other milling operations involving cast iron and non-ferrous metals such as aluminum and copper alloys, corresponding to ISO material groups K and N. The TFA series geometry with a flat-top chip breaker and corner-rounded cutting edge style supports stable chip formation at typical milling parameters for these material groups. The maximum depth of cut reaches 0.7087 inches (18.00 mm), giving the insert good range for both roughing and semi-finishing passes. It is sold individually but requires a minimum order quantity of 10 units.
Designed for use in TFA series milling toolholders accepting a triangular insert with a 0.5000-inch inscribed circle. Conforms to ANSI code TFA 42P3R H10 and ISO code TFAN 22 03 PF R H10, allowing cross-reference to compatible toolholder systems meeting those standards.
Insert installation and indexing should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician with the machine fully powered down and locked out per applicable lockout/tagout procedures. Use the appropriate torque wrench and clamp hardware specified by the toolholder manufacturer to seat the insert securely before resuming operation. Inspect the insert seat and clamping surfaces for chips or debris before seating a new insert. Do not exceed the toolholder manufacturer's recommended depth-of-cut or feed-rate parameters for this insert geometry.
