The SANDVIK COROMANT 5752855 is a solid carbide, uncoated turning insert in the CoroTurn 107 series, designed for precision single-point turning operations on hard materials. Conforming to ISO designation TCMW110208S01020E CB20, this insert features a triangular shape with a 60-degree included angle, a 1/32-inch (0.0313 inches) corner radius, and a neutral hand orientation. Grade CB20 is formulated for hard material applications, making it appropriate for turning hardened steels and similar difficult-to-machine workpieces. The insert is held by screw clamping and is intended for use by machinists and CNC turning professionals in production and tool-room environments.
This insert is suited for external and internal turning applications on hard workpiece materials, coded H per ISO classification. The CoroTurn 107 series is designed for bore and external turning where secure clamping and consistent edge geometry are required. With an inscribed circle of 0.25 inches, an insert thickness of 0.0938 inches, and an insert length of 0.1181 inches, it fits holders designed for the TCMW insert style with clearance code C and tolerance code M. It is appropriate for both high-volume CNC turning centers and manual lathes requiring a screw-on insert seat configuration.
Designed for use in screw-clamping turning tool holders accepting TCMW-style inserts with a 0.25-inch inscribed circle, clearance code C, and tolerance code M. Compatible holders must conform to the CoroTurn 107 series seat geometry. Verify holder bore diameter compatibility with the 0.1102-inch insert hole diameter before installation.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician with the machine fully powered down and the spindle locked before changing inserts. Use the appropriate Torx or hex key as specified by the holder manufacturer when tightening the clamping screw - do not overtighten, as this can crack the carbide insert. Inspect the insert pocket and seat for chips or debris before seating the new insert. Dispose of spent carbide inserts in accordance with applicable local regulations for tooling waste.
