The SANDVIK COROMANT 5752833 is a TCMT-style triangular turning insert designed for use in CoroTurn 107 external turning toolholders. It features a solid carbide substrate with a CVD-applied multilayer coating of TiCN, Al2O3, and TiN, corresponding to Sandvik Coromant grade 3210. This grade is optimized for turning cast iron workpieces where controlled wear resistance and thermal stability are required. The insert measures 0.6338 inches in length with a 3/8 inch (0.375 inch) inscribed circle and a 1/64 inch (0.0156 inch) corner radius. The KM chip breaker geometry delivers positive cutting action suited to medium finishing passes. Installation is performed by licensed machining professionals and CNC operators.
This insert is intended for external turning applications in CNC lathes and turning centers. Its primary workpiece material classification is cast iron (ISO code K), making it well suited for gray iron, nodular iron, and compacted graphite iron components. The neutral hand orientation means the insert functions in standard right-hand toolholders without repositioning. With three usable cutting edges per insert, the TCMT geometry provides economical tooling life in production turning environments.
Designed for use in CoroTurn 107 series toolholders accepting TCMT-style screw-on inserts with a 0.1732 inch hole diameter. ISO insert designation is TCMT 16 T3 04-KM 3210. Verify toolholder pocket specifications before installation.
Insert replacement is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before accessing the turret or toolholder. Seat the insert fully in the pocket and secure with the clamping screw to the toolholder manufacturer torque specification. Inspect the insert pocket for wear, chips, or debris before seating a new insert to ensure proper contact and cutting geometry.
