The SANDVIK COROMANT 5752813 is a solid carbide turning insert in the CoroTurn 107 series, designed for precision external turning operations on CNC lathes. It carries a PVD-applied TiAlN and AlCr2O3 dual-layer coating on a 1125 grade carbide substrate, delivering thermal resistance and edge stability at high cutting speeds. The insert follows the TCMT 06 T1 04 geometry with an MF chipbreaker, a 60-degree triangular shape, and a neutral hand orientation. With a 0.2449-inch cutting edge length and a 1/64-inch corner radius, it is suited for finishing and semi-finishing passes where tight tolerances and surface finish matter. Installation is handled by CNC machinists and turning center operators.
This insert is primarily intended for steel workpieces and is rated by the manufacturer across multiple ISO material groups including P, M, and S, covering steel, stainless steel, superalloy, and titanium applications. The MF chipbreaker geometry is optimized for light to medium depths of cut, making it well suited for finishing operations in general machining and precision component production environments. The 7-degree relief angle supports positive cutting action and reduced cutting forces on the workpiece. This insert fits screw-clamping toolholders compatible with the CoroTurn 107 system.
Designed for use with CoroTurn 107 series screw-clamp toolholders that accept TCMT-style inserts with a 5/32-inch inscribed circle. Compatible workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, superalloy, and titanium per manufacturer ISO material group ratings P, M, and S.
Insert replacement should be performed by a qualified CNC machinist or tooling technician with the machine in a full stop and lockout state per applicable shop safety procedures. Use the appropriate Torx or hex key to the toolholder manufacturer's specified clamping method when seating the insert in the pocket. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surface for chips or debris before installing a new insert. Do not exceed the manufacturer-recommended depth of cut or feed rate range for the MF chipbreaker geometry.
