The SANDVIK COROMANT 5752758 is a TCMT-style triangular turning insert designed for precision metal cutting in CNC and manual lathe applications. It carries the manufacturer grade 2035 with a TiAlN and TiN PVD coating applied over a solid carbide substrate. The insert measures 0.6338 inches in length with a 3/8-inch (0.3750-inch decimal) inscribed circle and a 1/64-inch corner radius (0.0156 inches). A 7-degree relief angle and neutral hand orientation make it a versatile choice for external and internal turning operations. Three cutting edges extend tool life per insert. It belongs to the CoroTurn 107 series with the MM chip breaker geometry.
This insert is rated primarily for stainless steel workpiece materials (ISO material code M), where the PVD TiAlN/TiN coating helps manage heat and edge wear at cutting speed. It is suited for finishing and light-to-medium roughing passes on stainless components in precision machining environments. The MM chip breaker geometry is optimized for chip control in tough, stringy materials. Installation is via screw-held clamping (ISO clearance code C, tolerance code M), making it compatible with standard TCMT toolholders.
Designed for use with TCMT-compatible screw-clamp toolholders in the CoroTurn 107 series. ISO code TCMT 16 T3 04-MM 2035 can be used for direct cross-reference to equivalent toolholder seats. Verify toolholder pocket specifications before installation.
This insert is installed by a machinist or toolroom technician using the screw-clamp method standard to TCMT-style toolholders. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing inserts. Use the correct torx or hex key to the toolholder manufacturer's specified fastener torque as listed in that toolholder's documentation. Inspect the insert pocket seat for debris or wear before seating a new insert to ensure proper clamping and accurate edge positioning.
