The SANDVIK COROMANT 5752573 is a TCMT-style triangular turning insert engineered for precision metal cutting in CNC lathe and turning center applications. Part of the CoroTurn 107 series, this insert features a solid carbide substrate with a CVD-applied multilayer coating of TiCN, Al2O3, and TiN, delivering wear resistance and thermal stability during interrupted and continuous cuts. The insert carries a 3210 manufacturer grade, a 7-degree relief angle, and a KM chip breaker geometry optimized for cast iron workpiece materials. It measures 0.618 inches in length with a 3/8-inch inscribed circle and a 1/32-inch corner radius, and weighs 0.14 pounds per piece.
This insert is primarily rated for cast iron machining (ISO material code K) and is suited for finishing to semi-finishing passes in general turning operations. The KM chip breaker promotes controlled chip flow and reduced cutting forces, making it appropriate for medium to light depths of cut on cast iron components in production or job-shop environments. The insert is held by screw clamping, consistent with standard TCMT toolholder systems. It is sold individually but requires a minimum order of 10 pieces.
Designed for use in screw-clamping TCMT toolholders within the CoroTurn 107 series. Compatible with turning centers and CNC lathes requiring TCMT 16 T3 08 geometry inserts (ISO code TCMT 16 T3 08-KM 3210). Primary workpiece material compatibility is cast iron (ISO code K).
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing inserts. Seat the insert fully against the toolholder pocket and tighten the clamping screw to the toolholder manufacturer's specified torque using the appropriate Torx or hex key. Inspect the pocket and screw for wear or debris before seating a new insert to ensure correct indexing.
