The SANDVIK COROMANT 5752500 is a solid carbide, uncoated turning insert in the CoroTurn 107 series, designed for precision external turning operations. It follows the TCMT 11 03 04-PF 5015 ISO designation and features a triangular insert shape with a 60-degree included angle, providing three usable cutting edges per insert. The PF chip breaker geometry is optimized for finishing passes on steel and cast iron workpieces. With a 1/4-inch inscribed circle and a 0.0156-inch corner radius, this insert delivers consistent surface finish and dimensional accuracy at moderate to light depths of cut. Licensed machinists and CNC lathe operators use this insert in screw-clamp toolholders compatible with the TCMT style.
This insert is rated for primary use on steel (ISO material code P) and secondary use on cast iron (ISO material code K), making it a practical choice for job shops and production environments running a variety of ferrous workpiece materials. The CoroTurn 107 series is built around screw-clamped, positive-rake toolholder systems commonly used in external turning and profiling. The uncoated, bright finish suits applications where coated grades may introduce edge buildup or where cutting fluid chemistry is a factor. The neutral hand orientation allows installation in both right-hand and left-hand toolholders of the TCMT insert style.
Designed for use in screw-clamp toolholders that accept TCMT-style turning inserts with a 1/4-inch inscribed circle. Compatible with the CoroTurn 107 toolholder system. Verify toolholder pocket geometry and clearance angle against the TCMT insert style (7-degree relief angle, clearance code C, tolerance code M) before installation.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup personnel with the machine spindle fully stopped and all axis motion disabled. Seat the insert fully into the pocket before tightening the clamping screw to avoid insert rocking or premature edge failure. Inspect the toolholder pocket and locating pin for wear or debris before each insert change. Follow the toolholder manufacturer's clamping torque specification for the TCMT screw-clamp style.
