The SANDVIK COROMANT 5752397 is a solid carbide turning insert in the TCMT style, part of the CoroTurn 107 series. It features a triangular insert shape with a 60-degree included angle, providing three usable cutting edges per insert. The grade is H13A with a bright, uncoated finish suited for precision turning applications. Key dimensions include a 0.25 inch inscribed circle, a 0.3913 inch insert length, a 3/32 inch insert thickness, and a 1/32 inch corner radius. A screw-in holding method and neutral hand orientation make it adaptable across a range of turning setups. Licensed HVAC technicians would not install this part — this insert is installed and changed by machinists and CNC operators.
This insert is designed for turning steel as its primary workpiece material, with stainless steel as a secondary application. The CoroTurn 107 series is engineered for external and internal turning operations where positive geometry and sharp edges are required. The UM chip breaker geometry is well suited for finishing and semi-finishing passes on steel and stainless steel components. The H13A uncoated carbide grade performs in applications where a sharp, consistent edge is critical and coating buildup would be a drawback.
Designed for use in CoroTurn 107 series toolholders that accept TCMT-style inserts with a 0.25 inch inscribed circle. Primary workpiece material is steel (ISO P); secondary workpiece material is stainless steel (ISO M). Compatible toolholders must accommodate screw-in insert retention with clearance code C and tolerance code M.
Insert changes are performed by machinists or CNC operators following machine lockout and spindle stop procedures before touching any cutting tool components. Use the appropriate Torx or insert screw driver specified for the toolholder to seat the insert and secure the clamping screw — avoid overtightening, which can crack carbide. Inspect the insert pocket and screw for wear or damage before seating a new insert. Dispose of used carbide inserts per facility scrap carbide recycling practices.
