The SANDVIK COROMANT 5752145 is a solid carbide turning insert designed for external and internal turning operations in metal cutting applications. Manufactured to TCMT geometry with a 60-degree triangle shape, this insert carries the 1125 grade with a dual-layer TiAlN and AlCr2O3 coating applied via PVD process. The coating provides wear resistance and thermal stability suited to steel machining at moderate to high cutting speeds. It features a neutral hand orientation, a UM chip breaker for controlled chip formation, and a screw-type holding method. The insert measures 0.4071 inches in length with a 1/4-inch inscribed circle and a 1/64-inch corner radius. It is installed and replaced by machinists and tool-room technicians.
The 5752145 is suited to turning operations on steel as the primary workpiece material and also performs on stainless steel, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, and titanium. It fits CoroTurn 107 series toolholders and is appropriate for CNC lathe and turning center applications in both production and job-shop environments. The UM chip breaker geometry targets general-purpose finishing and semi-finishing cuts where consistent chip control is required. Each insert provides three cutting edges, reducing per-edge tooling cost in high-volume turning operations.
Designed for use with CoroTurn 107 series toolholders. ISO code TCMT 11 02 04-UM 1125. Insert size code 21.51. Compatible workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, and titanium per ISO material codes P, M, N, and S.
Insert installation and indexing should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician with the machine powered down and the spindle locked. Use the appropriate Torx or hex key driver to seat the clamping screw to the toolholder manufacturer's specified method without overtorquing the insert pocket. Inspect the insert seat and screw threads for wear or contamination before seating a new insert. Always verify insert orientation and chip breaker direction before resuming cutting operations.
