The SANDVIK COROMANT 5752083 is a solid carbide, uncoated turning insert designed for precision metal cutting on CNC and manual turning centers. Conforming to the TCGT insert style with an ISO designation of TCGT 16 T3 04-UM H10A, this insert features a 60-degree triangular shape, a 3/8 inch inscribed circle, and a 0.0156 inch (1/64 inch) corner radius. The H10A uncoated carbide grade delivers consistent edge integrity at elevated cutting speeds. With a chip breaker geometry designated UM, the insert is optimized for finishing and semi-finishing passes where controlled chip evacuation is critical. Licensed machinists and CNC operators install this insert in compatible CoroTurn 107 series toolholders.
This insert is engineered for turning superalloys and titanium, classified under primary workpiece material code S. It is well suited for aerospace, medical, and high-performance industrial component machining where superalloy and titanium workpieces demand sharp, uncoated edges to avoid built-up edge and maintain dimensional tolerance. The neutral hand orientation makes it adaptable to both conventional and back-turning setups. The screw-on holding method provides secure clamping in CoroTurn 107 series toolholders commonly found in production turning environments.
Designed for use in SANDVIK COROMANT CoroTurn 107 series toolholders that accept TCGT-style screw-on inserts with a clearance code C and tolerance code G. Intended for turning superalloys and titanium (ISO material code S).
Insert installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician with the machine spindle fully stopped and all stored energy released. Use the appropriate Torx or hex key as specified by the toolholder manufacturer when tightening the clamping screw — do not overtighten, as this can chip the insert or damage the toolholder pocket. Inspect the insert seat and screw threads for chips or contamination before seating the insert. Index to a fresh cutting edge or replace the insert when flank wear or chipping is observed to maintain dimensional accuracy and surface finish.
