The SANDVIK COROMANT 5752065 is a solid carbide turning insert in the CoroTurn 107 series, designed for precision external and internal turning operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. This TCGT-style insert carries a dual PVD-applied coating of TiAlN and AlCr2O3 in manufacturer grade 1125, providing heat resistance and edge durability across a range of workpiece materials. The insert features a 60-degree triangle shape with a 0.10 mm corner radius, a 0.25-inch inscribed circle, and a neutral hand orientation. It is installed via screw-holding method and suits finishing to medium turning passes where tight tolerances and consistent surface finish are priorities.
This insert is suited for turning steel as its primary workpiece material, with secondary capability across stainless steel, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, and titanium. The UM chip breaker geometry supports controlled chip evacuation in these materials. Typical applications include precision finishing passes on turned components in general machining, aerospace, and energy sector shops. The CoroTurn 107 series is engineered for close-to-center tooling and small-diameter boring bar applications where radial cutting forces must be minimized. Designed for use in SANDVIK COROMANT CoroTurn 107 series toolholders accepting TCGT-style inserts with a 0.25-inch inscribed circle and screw-lock retention. ISO code TCGT 11 02 01-UM 1125. Compatible toolholders must match TCGT geometry with clearance code C and tolerance code G. Verify toolholder specifications before installation.
Insert indexing and replacement should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator with the spindle fully stopped and machine locked out per shop lockout-tagout procedures. Use the correct Torx or hex key as specified by the toolholder manufacturer to seat the clamping screw — do not overtighten. Inspect the insert pocket and clamping screw for wear or debris before seating a new insert. Handle carbide inserts carefully to avoid chipping cutting edges prior to use.
