The SANDVIK COROMANT 5750995 is a solid carbide, uncoated turning insert designed for precision metal cutting operations on CNC and manual lathes. Manufactured to the ISO code SPGN 120308 H13A, this insert features a square shape with a 90-degree included angle, an 11-degree relief angle, and a 0.0313-inch (1/32 inch) corner radius. The inscribed circle measures 0.5 inches (12.70 mm) and insert length is 0.4685 inches (11.90 mm). The H13A uncoated carbide grade is suited for applications where a bright, non-coated cutting edge is required, such as finishing passes on non-ferrous materials or heat-resistant alloys. Licensed machinists and CNC tool setters are the primary installers of this insert.
This insert is appropriate for use in turning operations on standard and CNC lathes across light to medium-duty cutting scenarios. The square insert shape (Insert Shape Code: S) and SPGN insert style make it compatible with toolholders designed to accept the SPGN 120308 insert form. It is commonly used in production environments where repeatable edge geometry and tight tolerances are required. The clamp-style holding method (Clearance Code P, Tolerance Code G) suits standard indexable insert toolholders for external turning and facing applications.
Designed for use with indexable turning toolholders that accept SPGN 120308-style inserts with clamp-style holding. Toolholder compatibility should be confirmed against the ISO code SPGN 120308 H13A and insert size code 422 prior to installation.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. The machine spindle must be fully stopped and the toolholder removed or locked out before indexing or replacing the insert. Use appropriate insert seating and clamping hardware specified for the SPGN insert style; do not overtighten the clamp screw beyond toolholder manufacturer specifications. Inspect the insert pocket and clamp for wear or debris before seating the new insert.
