The SANDVIK COROMANT 5750070 is an uncoated solid carbide turning insert designed for precision metal-cutting operations on CNC and manual lathes. It carries the SNMG 15 06 12-QM H13A ISO designation, featuring a 90-degree square shape with a 0-degree relief angle and a QM chip breaker geometry suited for medium machining applications. The inscribed circle measures 5/8 inch (0.625 inch), insert length is approximately 0.578 inch, and the corner radius is 3/64 inch (0.047 inch). The H13A uncoated carbide grade delivers sharp, consistent cutting edges. Licensed machinists and CNC operators install this insert in compatible indexable toolholders as part of routine cutting-edge replacement cycles.
This insert is used in turning operations on CNC machining centers and engine lathes across general-purpose and medium-duty applications. The SNMG insert style is a widely adopted geometry in both production and job-shop environments. It is held in the toolholder by clamp and pin, providing positive location and repeatable edge positioning. Typical materials machined with uncoated H13A carbide include cast iron and certain non-ferrous alloys where a bright, uncoated edge is preferred for clean chip formation and surface finish.
Designed for use in SNMG-style indexable turning toolholders that accept a square insert with a 5/8 inch inscribed circle and 1/4 inch insert thickness. Verify toolholder pocket specifications against the ISO designation SNMG 15 06 12-QM H13A before installation.
This insert is installed and indexed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing inserts. Use the appropriate torx or hex key specified by the toolholder manufacturer to secure the clamp; do not overtighten. Inspect the toolholder pocket and locating pin for wear or debris before seating a new insert to ensure proper edge geometry and safe cutting conditions.
