The SANDVIK COROMANT 5749952 is a modular turning profiling head designed for internal left-hand turning operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Part of the T-Max P series, this head mounts to modular tooling systems via a size 32 head connection and accepts CNMG 120408 inserts secured by a lever clamping mechanism. The neck diameter measures 40 mm (1.5748 inches) and the head length projection is 35 mm (1.378 inches). Through-coolant capability directs fluid directly to the cutting zone, supporting tool life and chip control in demanding internal profiling applications. Installed by machinists and tooling specialists in production turning environments.
This profiling head is suited for internal turning and profiling of bores and contours in ferrous and non-ferrous materials on CNC turning equipment. The left-hand cutting direction and 27 mm (1.063 inches) center-to-cutting-edge dimension make it appropriate for specific bore geometry requirements. The minimum hole diameter for this head is 50 mm (1.9685 inches), and the maximum hole depth matches the head length projection at 35 mm (1.378 inches). It is intended for use in precision production shops, job shops, and automated turning cells where modular tooling systems are in use.
Compatible with CNMG 120408 inserts. Designed for use with SANDVIK COROMANT T-Max P modular tooling systems with a size 32 head connection interface and a system size of 40.
Installation and tool setup should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician with the machine in a full stop, locked-out, and de-energized state per applicable machine safety procedures. Confirm the head connection torque and insert seating per the tooling system documentation before starting a cut. Verify through-coolant supply lines are connected and unobstructed prior to operation. Do not exceed the insert or holder limits specified in the manufacturer tooling documentation.
