The SANDVIK COROMANT 5745690 is a solid carbide milling insert in grade 2040, designed for shoulder milling operations in the R390 series tooling system. It features a parallelogram shape with a 90-degree included angle, positive 5-degree rake geometry, and a corner-rounded cutting edge style. The insert measures 11.00 mm in inscribed circle diameter and 6.33 mm thick, with a 0.80 mm corner radius. A CVD-applied multilayer coating of TiCrN, Al2O3, and TiN provides thermal and wear resistance across demanding cutting applications. Licensed machinists and toolroom technicians are the primary installers and operators.

This insert is suited for face and shoulder milling of steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium in both production and job-shop environments. Installation Notes
