The SANDVIK COROMANT 5739644 is an indexable boring bar designed for internal boring and grooving operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Built on the CoroCut 1-2 platform, it accepts a single N123G2-0300-GM insert secured by a clamp-style holding method. The steel shank measures 1 inch (25.40 mm) in diameter with an overall length of 7.874 inches (200 mm). Minimum bore diameter is 1.2598 inches (32 mm), and maximum bore depth reaches 4.0 inches. The neutral rake geometry and 90-degree lead angle make it suitable for both straight boring passes and groove profiling in a single setup.
This boring bar is used in precision turning applications requiring consistent bore geometry in steel, cast iron, and similar workpiece materials. The toolholder style is AG123..B and the series designation is CoroCut 1-2, a platform widely deployed in production turning environments. Coolant-through capability supports chip evacuation and tool life in deep-bore scenarios. Cutting direction is right-hand. The bar is a multi-use tool rated for both boring and grooving applications, reducing the number of tool changes required during a cycle.
Designed for use with N123G2-0300-GM inserts, compatible insert size code G. Insert is not included with the toolholder. Toolholder style AG123..B within the CoroCut 1-2 series. Compatible with both diamond and triangle insert cartridge configurations at the stated minimum bore diameter of 1.2598 inches.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC toolroom technician. Confirm the spindle and turret are fully de-energized and the machine is in a safe, locked-out state before mounting or changing the insert. Use the appropriate torque wrench for the clamp screw — refer to the SANDVIK COROMANT tooling manual for the specific fastener specification for this toolholder. Verify shank seating depth and coolant-through port alignment before returning the machine to service.
