The SANDVIK COROMANT 5739326 is a 2-flute indexable square-shoulder end mill built on the CoroMill 390 platform. It accepts two R390-17 series inserts held by screw clamp and is designed for 90-degree shoulder milling, ramping, and general square-shoulder profiling operations. The tool body is constructed from steel and features through-coolant capability for improved chip evacuation and insert life at elevated cutting speeds. With a 1-inch cutting diameter and a maximum depth of cut of 15.7 mm (0.618 inches), it is sized for mid-range roughing and finishing passes in ferrous and non-ferrous materials.
This end mill is intended for use in CNC machining centers in both production and job-shop environments. It is well suited for applications requiring true 90-degree walls, including face milling, shoulder milling, and ramping entries. The cylindrical shank measures 1 inch in diameter and 5.875 inches in length, making it compatible with standard ER or side-lock toolholders at that bore size. The 8-inch overall length provides clearance for deeper fixture setups. Maximum spindle speed is rated at 12,100 RPM. Licensed machinists, CNC programmers, and toolroom technicians are the primary users.
Designed for use with R390-17 series indexable inserts. The 1-inch cylindrical shank fits standard toolholders bored to 1 inch. Insert and toolholder selection should be confirmed against current SANDVIK COROMANT catalog data for the CoroMill 390 series.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC toolroom technician with the spindle fully powered down and locked out per facility LOTO procedures. Confirm toolholder bore size and projection length before assembly to avoid runout. Inserts must be seated cleanly and torqued to the insert screw specification published in the SANDVIK COROMANT CoroMill 390 tooling guide — do not estimate torque values. Through-coolant ports should be cleared and pressure-tested before returning the tool to service.
