The SANDVIK COROMANT 5737167 is a solid carbide cutoff insert designed for parting and grooving operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Cataloged under the T-Max Q-Cut series with insert style N151.2, this insert features a 2.00 mm cutting width, a neutral lead angle, and a 7-degree relief angle. The H13A grade solid carbide substrate is supplied bright and uncoated, making it well-suited for non-ferrous metals, cast iron, and other materials where a coated grade would offer no additional benefit. A 0.20 mm corner radius and 5E chipbreaker geometry promote controlled chip flow and clean parting cuts in production turning environments. Installation and setup are handled by licensed machinists and CNC operators.
This insert is used in parting-off and grooving applications across light to medium-duty turning operations. The neutral hand designation allows the insert to be applied in standard right-hand or left-hand tool configurations without offset compensation. Its clamp-style holding method ensures secure seating in compatible T-Max Q-Cut toolholders during high-cycle production runs. The insert size code 20 and seat size 20 define toolholder compatibility. Typical applications include bar stock cutoff, groove profiling, and recessing on ferrous and non-ferrous workpieces in job shop and production floor settings.
Designed for use with T-Max Q-Cut series toolholders accepting insert size code 20 and seat size 20. Specific toolholder compatibility should be confirmed against the SANDVIK COROMANT T-Max Q-Cut toolholder selection guide for insert style N151.2.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. The machine spindle must be fully stopped and the turret de-energized before insert removal or seating. Use the appropriate clamp screw and torque driver specified by the toolholder manufacturer — do not use makeshift tools that could damage the insert seat or clamp. Inspect the insert pocket for chips, debris, or wear before seating a new insert.
