The SANDVIK COROMANT 5737019 is a solid carbide grooving insert designed for precision parting and grooving operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Manufactured to ISO code N151.3-600-50-7P 1125, it features a 0.2362-inch (6.00 mm) cutting width and a neutral hand orientation for use in both left- and right-hand toolholders. The 1125 grade substrate uses a PVD-applied TiAlN coating, which provides thermal resistance and wear resistance in demanding cut conditions. The 7P chip breaker geometry promotes controlled chip evacuation in a range of materials. This insert is installed by machinists and CNC operators working in production turning environments.
This insert belongs to the T-Max Q-Cut series, engineered for stable grooving and parting on small to medium diameter workpieces. It suits applications in general turning, including stainless steel, steel, and cast iron where a consistent 6.00 mm groove width is required. The neutral rake angle of 11 degrees makes it appropriate for a wide range of cut scenarios without requiring dedicated left- or right-hand setup. Insert seat size 50 corresponds to compatible T-Max Q-Cut toolholders. The multi-use design allows the insert to be indexed, reducing per-edge tooling cost in high-volume production runs.
Designed for use in T-Max Q-Cut series toolholders with insert seat size 50. ISO code N151.3-600-50-7P 1125 governs toolholder slot compatibility. Verify toolholder seat size and clamping system before installation.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians. Always power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or removing inserts. Use the appropriate torx or clamp screw driver specified by the toolholder manufacturer to secure the insert — do not overtighten or substitute hardware. Inspect the insert seat for chips or debris before seating to ensure proper insert contact and dimensional accuracy.
