The SANDVIK COROMANT 5736765 is a solid carbide cutoff and parting insert designed for use in T-Max Q-Cut toolholders. It features a 2.5 mm (0.0984 inch) cutting width, a 5E chipbreaker geometry, and a PVD-applied TiAlN/TiN coating for heat and wear resistance at the cutting edge. The insert carries manufacturer grade 1005, which is suited for parting and grooving operations in steel and similar materials. Neutral hand orientation and a 0-degree lead angle make it a straightforward drop-in for standard parting setups. Licensed machinists and CNC turning professionals install this type of insert during routine tooling changeovers on turning centers and lathes.
This insert is used in parting and cutoff operations on CNC lathes and manual turning machines. The T-Max Q-Cut series is a clamped insert system designed for controlled, repeatable grooving and cutoff work. The 5E chipbreaker supports chip control during through-cutoff and deep grooving passes. With a 0.20 mm corner radius and 7-degree relief angle, this insert is appropriate for close-tolerance parting work where surface finish and dimensional accuracy at the cutoff point matter. It is sold individually with a minimum order quantity of 10 units.
Designed for use with T-Max Q-Cut series toolholders accepting insert size code 25 and insert seat size 25. Verify toolholder compatibility using the N151.2 insert style designation before ordering.
Installation and changeover should be performed by a qualified machinist with the machine powered down and in a locked-out state per applicable lockout/tagout procedures. Use the correct clamp and torx or hex key as specified by the toolholder manufacturer for the T-Max Q-Cut system. Do not exceed the insert seat size or mix insert grades without confirming application suitability. Inspect the insert seat and clamp for wear or debris before seating a new insert.
