The SANDVIK COROMANT 5736565 is a solid carbide grooving insert designed for precision external grooving operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Part of the CoroCut 3 series, this neutral-hand insert features a 0.5 mm cutting width and a maximum depth of cut of 1.5 mm, making it well suited for narrow groove work requiring tight dimensional control. The substrate is solid carbide with a PVD-applied TiAlN coating, which provides thermal resistance and wear protection at elevated cutting speeds. The RS chip breaker geometry promotes positive rake cutting action and reliable chip control in a range of workpiece materials. Installation and use are handled by qualified machinists and CNC operators.
This insert is intended for grooving applications in metalworking environments, including production turning of steel, stainless steel, and similar materials where shallow, narrow groove profiles are required. The insert size designation is T, with an ISO code of N123T3-0050-RS 1125. It is sold individually per package and is a multi-use tool configuration within the CoroCut 3 tooling platform. Typical applications include undercut grooves, snap-ring grooves, and precision parting work on small-diameter workpieces where a 0.5 mm cutting width is specified.
Designed for use in SANDVIK COROMANT CoroCut 3 series toolholders that accept size T inserts. Consult the CoroCut 3 toolholder catalog to confirm seat geometry and clamping compatibility before ordering.
Insert seating and clamping should be performed by a qualified machinist with the machine spindle stopped and all axis motion disabled. Ensure the insert seat is clean and free of chips or debris before seating the insert. Use the manufacturer-specified torx key or clamping screw torque procedure outlined in the CoroCut 3 toolholder documentation. Inspect the insert edge condition before each use and replace at first signs of chipping or flank wear to maintain dimensional accuracy.
