The SANDVIK COROMANT 5736562 is a solid carbide grooving insert designed for precision external grooving and parting operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Finished with a PVD-applied TiAlN coating and carrying the 1125 manufacturer grade, this insert delivers thermal resistance and wear performance suited to steel and stainless applications. The neutral hand orientation makes it adaptable to a range of toolholder setups. With a 0.5906-inch cutting width and a 0.0472-inch corner radius, this insert handles medium-depth groove profiles with consistent dimensional accuracy. Machinists and CNC operators working in production shops and job shops are the primary users.
This insert is part of the CoroCut 1-2 series, a system engineered for secure clamping and repeatable indexing in single- and double-edged grooving applications. It is suited for use on multi-purpose CNC turning centers in both low-volume job work and high-volume production environments. The GR chip breaker geometry promotes controlled chip formation during grooving passes, reducing the risk of chip packing in the groove cavity. Compatible toolholders following the CoroCut 1-2 system standard are required for proper seating and clamping.
Designed for use with CoroCut 1-2 series toolholders requiring an R insert seat size. ISO code N123R1-1500-0010-GR 1125 may be used for toolholder and catalog cross-reference. No additional compatible model numbers were specified in the product data.
Installation is performed by CNC machinists or toolroom technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Seat the insert fully into the toolholder pocket and verify clamp torque according to the toolholder manufacturer specification before resuming cuts. Inspect the insert seat for chips or debris before seating a new insert to avoid seating errors that can cause premature edge failure.
