The SANDVIK COROMANT 5735750 is a polycrystalline diamond (PCD) grooving insert designed for precision external and internal grooving operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Manufactured in an uncoated, bright finish with a neutral hand orientation, this insert features a 4 mm cutting width and a maximum depth of cut of 1.8 mm. The CD10 grade PCD construction provides exceptional hardness and wear resistance for machining non-ferrous materials, composites, and other abrasive workpieces where carbide tooling falls short. It is installed by machinists and toolroom technicians working in high-precision production environments.
The 5735750 belongs to the CoroCut 1-2 series, a widely used platform for parting and grooving applications in both production and job-shop settings. The neutral hand orientation makes it adaptable to a range of machine setups. With an insert size designation of 0400 and a corner radius of 2 mm, it is suited for finishing and semi-finishing grooves where tight dimensional tolerances and surface finish quality are required. Typical applications include grooving aluminum alloys, copper, graphite, and fiber-reinforced composites.
Designed for use with SANDVIK COROMANT CoroCut 1-2 series grooving and parting toolholders. Confirm holder pocket style and insert seating geometry match Insert Style N123 before installation.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician with the machine powered down and all axes at rest. PCD inserts are brittle — avoid impact loading, interrupted cuts on hardened steels, or using this insert on ferrous materials, as PCD reacts chemically with iron at elevated temperatures. Seat the insert fully in the pocket and torque the clamping screw to the toolholder manufacturer's specification. Verify runout and insert seating with a dial indicator before returning the machine to service.
