The SANDVIK COROMANT 5735493 is a solid carbide indexable boring bar in the CoroCut MB series, designed for internal turning and boring operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Built to the MB-E0625-25-09 toolholder style, it accepts MB-09 inserts and delivers a minimum bore diameter of 5/8 inch (15.88 mm). The overall length is 130 mm (approximately 5.12 inches), and coolant-through capability is standard, supporting chip evacuation in deep-bore applications. This bar is sized for small-diameter internal work where rigidity and precision clearance are critical. It is installed and qualified by machinists and CNC setup technicians working in production or job-shop environments.
This boring bar is suited for small-bore internal turning in both production and prototype machining environments. It fits lathes and turning centers where the bore diameter requirement starts at 5/8 inch. The maximum bore depth reaches 60.70 mm, and the back-of-bar to cutting edge distance is 124.70 mm, which determines how the bar seats in the holder relative to the bore entry. The center-to-cutting-edge dimension is 10.00 mm. This toolholder does not include an insert — MB-09 series inserts must be ordered separately. It is appropriate for steel, stainless, cast iron, and non-ferrous materials depending on insert grade selection.
Designed for use with MB-09 series indexable inserts. The toolholder style is MB-E0625-25-09 within the CoroCut MB platform. Insert is not included and must be sourced separately.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. The machine spindle and turret must be fully powered down and locked out before mounting or removing the boring bar. Ensure the shank bore in the holder is clean and free of chips before seating the bar, and verify that clamping torque on the holder screws follows the toolholder manufacturer specification. Coolant-through connections should be checked for proper seating and leak-free operation before resuming cutting.
