The SANDVIK COROMANT 5735443 is a solid carbide turning insert designed for precision parting and grooving operations in the CoroCut XS series. It carries a TiAlN and TiN PVD coating applied over a carbide substrate, which provides thermal resistance and wear performance in demanding cutting conditions. The insert follows the MAFR style with an irregular shape code M, a 0.1250 inch (3.17 mm) inscribed circle, and a 0.10 mm corner radius. Relief angle is 6 degrees, tolerance code is F, and clearance code is A. This is a right-hand insert held in place by a screw-type clamping method. It is suited for installation by machinists and CNC tooling technicians working with small-part turning applications.
This insert is intended for use in small-diameter and miniature turning applications where tight tolerances and precise corner geometry are critical. The CoroCut XS series targets small-part machining in industries such as medical device manufacturing, watchmaking, and precision component production. The full-radius geometry and chip breaker code R support consistent chip control during turning operations. The insert is rated for multi-use turning applications and is compatible with CoroCut XS toolholders designed for MAFR-style inserts.
Designed as a replacement insert for SANDVIK COROMANT CoroCut XS toolholders accepting MAFR-style inserts with a 0.1250 inch inscribed circle and screw clamping. ISO code MAFR 3 010 1025 should be referenced when confirming toolholder fitment.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician with the machine powered down and in a locked-out state before changing inserts. Use the appropriate Torx or hex key as specified by the toolholder manufacturer to secure the clamping screw. Inspect the insert seat and screw thread for damage or chips before seating the new insert. Do not force the insert into the pocket; proper seating ensures correct cutting geometry and safe operation.
