The SANDVIK COROMANT 5732266 is a DNMG331MF 2025 grade indexable turning insert designed for precision metal cutting on CNC lathes and turning centers. The insert is manufactured from solid carbide with a multilayer TiCN, Al2O3, and TiN coating that resists heat and wear during continuous and interrupted cuts. It features a 55-degree diamond shape, a neutral hand orientation, a 3/8-inch inscribed circle, and a 1/64-inch corner radius. The MF chip breaker geometry is optimized for controlled chip evacuation at moderate feed rates. Machinists and CNC operators install this insert as part of SANDVIK COROMANT T-Max P tooling systems.
This insert is rated for primary use on stainless steel workpiece materials (ISO material code M), making it well suited for turning austenitic, ferritic, and duplex stainless components in aerospace, food processing, medical, and general manufacturing environments. The 2025 grade and MF chip breaker combination targets finishing to medium-roughing passes where consistent surface finish and chip control on tough, work-hardening materials are required. The insert holds up to a maximum depth of cut of 0.4421 inches (11.23 mm) and seats using a clamp and pin holding method standard to compatible T-Max P boring bars and turning holders.

Insert replacement should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician with the machine in a full stop, spindle off, and all motion axes locked or at a safe position. Use the appropriate torque wrench and T-Max P clamping hardware specified for DNMG-style inserts — do not overtighten the clamp screw, as this can fracture the carbide substrate. Inspect the insert pocket seat and locating pin for wear or debris before seating a new insert. Index or replace the insert at the first sign of flank wear, built-up edge, or surface finish degradation rather than running to failure.
