The SANDVIK COROMANT 5732262 is a DNMG-style indexable turning insert designed for external and internal turning operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. It carries the 1125 manufacturer grade with a dual-layer TiAlN and AlCr2O3 coating applied via PVD process, which delivers wear resistance and thermal stability across a broad range of cutting conditions. The insert features a 55-degree diamond shape, a neutral hand orientation, and an MF chip breaker geometry suited for finishing and medium-finish passes. With four usable cutting edges per insert, it offers extended tooling economy on production runs.
This insert is engineered primarily for steel machining and carries a primary workpiece material code of P. It is also rated for secondary applications in stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium, making it versatile across mixed-material job shops and production turning environments. The MF chip breaker geometry is optimized for controlled chip formation at lighter depths of cut and moderate feed rates, which is typical in finish-turning workflows. It seats in DNMG-compatible toolholders using a clamp-and-pin holding method and is indexed by a licensed machinist or CNC setup technician.
Designed for use in DNMG-compatible toolholders within the SANDVIK COROMANT T-Max P series. ISO designation for this insert is DNMG 11 04 04-MF 1125. Verify toolholder pocket geometry and clamping system before installation.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate torque driver or clamp screw tool specified by the toolholder manufacturer to secure the clamp without over-tightening. Inspect the toolholder pocket and seating surfaces for chips or wear before seating a new insert, as debris under the insert will affect runout and surface finish.
