The SANDVIK COROMANT 5732210 is a DPMT-style turning insert designed for precision metal cutting in CNC lathe and turning center applications. This solid carbide insert features a TiAlN and AlCr2O3 PVD coating applied through a physical vapor deposition process, providing strong wear resistance and heat tolerance during interrupted and continuous cuts. The 55-degree diamond insert shape and 1/32-inch corner radius make it well suited for profiling and finishing passes. With a neutral hand orientation and screw-in holding method, it fits standard DPMT toolholder pockets in the CoroTurn 111 series. Qualified machinists and CNC operators are the primary installers of this insert type.
This insert is primarily rated for steel cutting, with secondary compatibility extending to stainless steel, superalloy, and titanium workpiece materials. It carries ISO code DPMT 11 T3 08-MM 1125 and uses the MM chip breaker geometry, which is optimized for controlled chip formation across a range of feed and depth-of-cut conditions. The CoroTurn 111 series is a common platform in production and job-shop turning environments where consistent surface finish and dimensional accuracy are required. The insert is sold individually with a minimum order quantity of 10 units.
Designed for use in CoroTurn 111 series DPMT toolholders. ISO designation DPMT 11 T3 08-MM 1125 identifies the toolholder pocket geometry required. Primary workpiece material is steel (ISO code P); secondary materials include stainless steel, superalloy, and titanium (ISO codes M, P, and S).
Insert replacement should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC technician with the machine powered down and the spindle fully stopped before tool change. Use the appropriate Torx or hex key for the clamp screw as specified by the toolholder manufacturer. Inspect the toolholder pocket seating surface for wear or debris before seating the new insert. Follow the toolholder manufacturer guidelines for screw torque and insert indexing procedure.
