The SANDVIK COROMANT 5730830 is a solid carbide, uncoated turning insert from the CoroTurn 107 series, designed for precision external turning operations. Carrying the ISO designation DCMT 11 T3 02-KF H13A, this insert features a 55-degree diamond shape with a neutral hand orientation and a 7-degree relief angle. The KF chip breaker geometry is engineered to handle cast iron and non-ferrous metal workpieces efficiently. With a 0.375-inch inscribed circle, a 0.0079-inch corner radius, and a maximum depth of cut of 0.4499 inches, it suits medium finishing to semi-finishing passes on CNC lathes and turning centers. The H13A uncoated carbide grade delivers consistent edge integrity without coating delamination on abrasive materials.
This insert is primarily suited for turning cast iron and non-ferrous metals in both production and job-shop environments. The DCMT style, screw-held mounting, and neutral hand make it compatible with a wide range of standard CoroTurn 107 toolholders used in CNC turning centers, manual lathes, and live-tool applications. The KF chip breaker promotes controlled chip evacuation during medium-depth finishing cuts, reducing cycle interruptions on cast iron components such as housings, brackets, and manifolds. Each package contains one insert; the minimum order quantity is 10 inserts.
Designed for use with CoroTurn 107 series toolholders that accept DCMT style inserts with screw clamping. Primary workpiece material is cast iron (ISO code K); secondary workpiece material is non-ferrous metal (ISO code N).
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or removing inserts. Use the manufacturer-specified torx or hex key to secure the clamping screw to the toolholder specification — do not overtighten, as this can fracture the carbide substrate. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surface for chips or debris before seating a new insert to ensure accurate tool-height repeatability.
