The SANDVIK COROMANT 5730692 is a DCMT32.50-MF 1125 solid carbide turning insert designed for precision finishing operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Part of the CoroTurn 107 series, it features a 55-degree diamond (rhombic) insert shape with a positive side clearance and a 0.2 mm corner radius for tight-tolerance finish cuts. The dual-layer TiAlN and AlCr2O3 PVD coating delivers high wear resistance when machining stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium. With two cutting edges per insert, this grade 1125 insert is suited for high-productivity turning programs where tool life and surface finish consistency are critical. Insert seating and clamping should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Always power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing inserts. Inspect the toolholder pocket for wear, chips, or debris before seating a new insert, as contamination in the pocket will affect insert stability and surface finish. Torque the clamping screw to the toolholder manufacturer specification — do not estimate by feel, as under- or over-torquing compromises edge security during cutting.
