The SANDVIK COROMANT 5730680 is a solid carbide, uncoated turning insert designed for precision finishing operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Cataloged under the CoroTurn 107 series, it carries the ANSI insert code DCMT32.51KF and ISO code DCMT11T304KFH13A. The insert features a 55-degree diamond (rhombic) shape with a positive side clearance and a KF chip breaker geometry optimized for finishing cuts. At 0.4579 inches in length with a 3/8-inch inscribed circle and a 0.0157-inch corner radius, it delivers tight-tolerance surface finishes in cast iron, aluminum, non-ferrous metals, and select superalloys. Grade H13A provides high wear resistance with moderate toughness across these material groups.
This insert is suited for light finishing passes in both production and job-shop environments. The KF chip breaker geometry manages chip control at lower depths of cut, with a maximum depth of cut of 0.4421 inches. The neutral hand orientation allows use in standard right-hand toolholders designed for DCMT-style inserts. It is held in the toolholder via a screw-on clamping method, which is common in positive-rake, through-hole insert systems. Machinists and CNC operators working on cast iron components, aluminum parts, and non-ferrous workpieces will find this insert appropriate for achieving fine surface finish requirements.
Designed for use in CoroTurn 107 series toolholders that accept DCMT32.51 (DCMT11T304) inserts with screw-on clamping. Suitable for turning cast iron, aluminum, non-ferrous metals, and special or super alloys under primary workpiece material codes K, N, and S.
Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC setup technician. Power down and de-energize the machine, and confirm the spindle is fully stopped before indexing or replacing inserts. Seat the insert fully into the toolholder pocket and tighten the clamping screw to the toolholder manufacturer's specified torque. Inspect the insert seat and clamping components for debris or wear before securing the new insert.
