The SANDVIK COROMANT 5730654 is a cermet, uncoated turning insert in the CoroTurn 107 series, designed for precision external turning operations. It features a 55-degree diamond (D) insert shape with a neutral hand orientation, a 0.3750-inch inscribed circle, and a 0.20 mm (0.0079 inch) corner radius. The WF chip breaker geometry supports controlled chip formation during finishing and semi-finishing cuts. With two cutting edges and a screw-style insert holding method, this insert is suited for high-accuracy turning on CNC lathes and turning centers. Licensed machinists and CNC operators working in metalworking environments are the primary installers and users.
This insert is primarily used for turning steel (ISO material code P) and cast iron (ISO material code K) workpieces in both residential shop and industrial manufacturing environments. The CoroTurn 107 series is engineered for light to medium turning applications where tight tolerances and consistent surface finish are required. The ISO code for this insert is DCMX 11 T3 02-WF 5015, which can be used for cross-referencing with SANDVIK COROMANT tooling systems and compatible insert holders in the CoroTurn 107 lineup.
Designed for use with SANDVIK COROMANT CoroTurn 107 series insert holders that accept DCMX-style inserts with a 3/8-inch inscribed circle. ISO code DCMX 11 T3 02-WF 5015 can be used to verify holder compatibility. Primary workpiece materials are steel (P) and cast iron (K).
Insert installation and indexing should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Always power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing inserts. Use the manufacturer-specified torque driver for the clamping screw to ensure proper seating without overtightening. Inspect the insert pocket and clamping components for wear or debris before seating a new insert.
