The SANDVIK COROMANT 5730653 is a solid carbide turning insert designed for precision external turning operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Manufactured under the CoroTurn 107 series, this insert carries the ISO designation DCMX 11 T3 02-WF 1125 and features a 55-degree diamond shape with a neutral hand orientation. The PVD-applied dual-layer TiAlN and AlCr2O3 coating in manufacturer grade 1125 delivers thermal resistance and edge toughness suited to continuous and light interrupted cuts. With a 0.0079-inch (0.20 mm) corner radius and a wiper edge geometry, it is intended for finishing and semi-finishing passes where surface finish quality is critical. Machinists and CNC operators working in job shops, production facilities, and contract machining environments will encounter this insert as a standard consumable.
This insert is primarily specified for steel workpieces (ISO material group P) and is also rated for stainless steel applications (ISO material group M). The WF chip breaker geometry is optimized for light-depth, low-feed finishing cuts that require controlled chip formation and a clean surface finish. It is suited for small-bore external turning on moderate to high-spindle-speed programs. The screw-on holding method (clearance code C, tolerance code M) is compatible with CoroTurn 107 toolholders designed for DCMX-style inserts. This product is sold individually with a minimum order quantity of 10 pieces per transaction.
Designed for use with CoroTurn 107 series toolholders that accept DCMX-style screw-on inserts with a 3/8-inch inscribed circle and clearance code C. Verify toolholder pocket geometry against the ISO designation DCMX 11 T3 02-WF 1125 before ordering.
Insert seating and torque should follow the toolholder manufacturer specifications for the CoroTurn 107 screw-clamping system — do not overtighten the retention screw, as carbide inserts are brittle and can fracture under uneven clamping load. Ensure the insert pocket and seating surface are clean and free of chips or debris before seating a new insert. Machine spindle should be fully stopped and the program placed in feed-hold before indexing or replacing inserts. Handle carbide inserts with care to avoid chipping cutting edges during storage and installation.
