Product Description

The SANDVIK COROMANT 5730535 is a solid carbide turning insert designed for precision external turning operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Part of the CoroTurn 107 series, this insert features a 55-degree diamond shape (D) with a neutral hand orientation and a 7-degree relief angle (clearance code C). The 1125 manufacturer grade is finished with a PVD-applied TiAlN and AlCr2O3 dual-layer coating, delivering heat resistance and edge retention at cutting speeds common in steel and stainless steel applications. It is screw-held (insert holding method: screw) and carries tolerance code M for consistent dimensional accuracy across cutting edges.

This insert is suited for finish to medium turning of steel, stainless steel, superalloy, and titanium workpieces. The MF chip breaker geometry is optimized for light depths of cut and controlled chip formation, making it a practical choice for close-tolerance finishing passes. Machining shops, toolroom technicians, and CNC operators working with ISO material groups P, M, and S will find this insert applicable across a range of turning fixtures. It is sold individually, with a minimum order quantity of 10 units.

Key Features

  • CoroTurn 107 series, DCMT insert style with 55-degree diamond shape and neutral hand
  • PVD-coated with TiAlN and AlCr2O3 dual-layer for elevated heat and wear resistance
  • MF chip breaker geometry engineered for finish and light medium turning
  • 7-degree relief angle with clearance code C and tolerance code M
  • Screw-held mounting for positive insert location and repeatable positioning
  • 2 cutting edges per insert for extended tool life per unit

Compatibility

Designed for use in CoroTurn 107 toolholders accepting DCMT-style inserts with a 3/8-inch inscribed circle. Compatible workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, superalloy, and titanium (ISO material codes P, M, and S). ISO designation: DCMT 11 T3 08-MF 1125.

Installation Notes

Installation is performed by qualified CNC machinists or toolroom technicians using the appropriate Torx or hex key for the screw-clamp system. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing inserts. Verify insert seating in the pocket is flush and the screw is snug before resuming cutting operations. Do not mix insert grades or chip breaker styles within the same toolholder without confirming compatibility with the toolholder specification sheet.
