The SANDVIK COROMANT 5729233 is a modular turning profiling head designed for external and internal profiling operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Built to C6 system size, the head measures 3.54 inches in head length projection and accepts CNMG 432 (CNMG 120408) inserts held by a mechanical clamp. Through-coolant delivery channels coolant directly to the cutting zone, extending insert life and improving chip control during high-volume production turning. This tool head is part of the T-Max P series, a platform engineered for demanding steel, stainless, and cast iron turning applications. Installation and setup are performed by qualified CNC machinists or tooling technicians.
The 5729233 is suited for use in production turning environments where consistent tool life and repeatable profiling accuracy are required. The neutral cutting direction makes it adaptable to both left-hand and right-hand profiling approaches on the same setup. A minimum bore or clearance diameter of 4.33 inches (110 mm) is required for proper tool deployment. This head interfaces with compatible C6 modular tooling systems, making it interchangeable within a standardized tooling inventory. Typical applications include contour turning, shoulder profiling, and finish turning on medium to large-diameter workpieces in job shop and production environments.
Compatible with CNMG 432 (CNMG 120408) inserts. Designed for use with C6 modular tooling system interfaces. Minimum hole diameter of 4.33 inches (110 mm) required for clearance.
Installation should be performed by a qualified CNC machinist or tooling technician familiar with modular turning system assembly. Ensure the machine spindle and turret are fully powered down and the program is in a safe state before mounting or removing the tool head. Verify the C6 coupling interface is clean and free of chips or debris before seating the head to ensure accurate repeatable positioning. Confirm through-coolant supply lines are properly connected and free of obstructions before initiating a test cut.
