The SANDVIK COROMANT 5726432 is a solid carbide grooving tool designed for precision material removal in turning and grooving operations. Built from 1025 solid carbide stock, it features a TiAlN/TiN finish that improves surface hardness and wear resistance at elevated cutting temperatures. The tool is configured for right-hand cut and carries a 0.002-inch corner radius, making it suited for tight-tolerance groove profiles. Machinists and CNC operators working in production environments install this tool in compatible grooving toolholders on lathes and turning centers.
This grooving tool is intended for use in metal cutting applications where consistent groove geometry and tool life are required. The TiAlN/TiN coating extends tool life in ferrous and non-ferrous materials by reducing oxidation at the cutting edge. At 3.47 inches in length and 0.71 inches in both height and width, the tool fits standard insert pocket and blade-style grooving systems used in shop floor and CNC turning environments. It is sold as a single unit.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement grooving tool for use in compatible SANDVIK COROMANT grooving systems and toolholders that accept this blade and insert geometry.
Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC tooling technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or removing the grooving tool. Ensure the toolholder pocket is clean and free of chips before insertion. Follow the machine tool manufacturer guidelines and applicable shop safety procedures when setting tool offsets and verifying runout.
