The SANDVIK COROMANT 5725069 is a ceramic turning insert with a titanium nitride (TiN) coating applied via PVD process, designed for high-speed metal cutting in demanding applications. Carrying the grade designation 6050, it features an 80-degree diamond shape (Insert Shape Code C) with a neutral hand orientation and a wiper edge for improved surface finish. The insert measures 0.4762 inches in length with a 1/2-inch inscribed circle and a 3/16-inch thickness. It delivers four cutting edges per insert and is part of the T-Max P series. Licensed HVAC techs install system components, but this insert is installed and replaced by machinists and CNC programmers working in production or toolroom environments.
This insert is engineered for turning hard materials, designated by workpiece material code H. It fits precision turning applications where consistent surface finish and tool life under high cutting temperatures are required. The wiper edge geometry reduces feed marks, making it well suited for finishing passes on hardened steels and other difficult-to-machine materials. The T-Max P series is a recognized platform for external and internal turning across a range of part profiles. Each package contains one insert, with a minimum order quantity of 10 units.
Designed for use in T-Max P series toolholders compatible with CNGA-style inserts. Intended for machining hard materials (material code H). Held by clamp and pin method. Refer to the CNGA432 toolholder specifications to confirm seat and clamp compatibility before installation.
This insert is installed by machinists or toolroom technicians using appropriate CNGA-compatible toolholders. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing inserts. Ensure the insert seat and clamp are clean and free of chips or debris before seating the insert. Follow the toolholder manufacturer torque and clamping guidelines for the specific clamp style in use.
