The SANDVIK COROMANT 5724866 is a solid carbide turning insert designed for precision machining of hard materials. Carrying the CCGW32.52T0320FWH 7015 designation, this insert features an 80-degree diamond shape, a 7-degree relief angle, and a PVD-applied titanium nitride (TiN) coating for extended wear resistance. The wiper edge geometry (WH chip breaker) promotes improved surface finish at standard feed rates. With an inscribed circle of 0.375 inches and a corner radius of 0.0313 inches, it suits fine to medium finishing passes. Licensed HVAC and metalworking professionals and CNC machinists install this insert on lathes and turning centers targeting hard-material workpieces where edge sharpness and coating adhesion are critical.
This insert is suited for hard-material turning applications in both production and job-shop environments. The CoroTurn 107 series designation indicates compatibility with screw-clamped toolholders designed for that insert-holding system. The neutral hand orientation allows use in standard right-hand and neutral turning setups. It is appropriate for finishing and light semi-finishing cuts on hardened steels and similarly difficult workpieces where tight dimensional tolerances are required.
Designed for use with CoroTurn 107 series screw-clamped toolholders compatible with CCGW-style inserts. ISO code CCGW09T308T01020FWH 7015 may be used for cross-reference to equivalent toolholder seat specifications.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or indexing any insert. Use the appropriate Torx or hex key to the toolholder manufacturer's specified procedure when tightening the clamping screw — do not overtighten, as this can chip the carbide. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surface for chips or contamination before installing a new insert.
