The SANDVIK COROMANT 5724835 is a CNMG432-QM 235 grade solid carbide turning insert designed for precision external and internal turning operations. The insert features a CVD-applied TiCN plus TiN multilayer coating that improves wear resistance and tool life across a range of cutting conditions. With an 80-degree diamond shape (C-style insert code), a neutral hand orientation, and the QM chip breaker geometry, this insert is built for general-purpose steel and stainless steel turning. It is sized at a 1/2-inch inscribed circle with a 1/32-inch corner radius, making it a standard CNMG 12 04 08 form factor. Licensed HVAC machinists, toolroom operators, and CNC lathe technicians working in job shop or production environments are the primary users.
This insert is engineered primarily for cutting steel (ISO material code P) and secondarily for stainless steel (ISO material code M). The QM chip breaker geometry is well suited to medium-range depths of cut and feed rates on both materials. It mounts using a clamp-and-pin holding method and fits toolholders designed for the CNMG insert style within the Sandvik Coromant T-Max P series. The ISO designation for this insert is CNMG 12 04 08-QM 235. Each package contains one insert; the minimum order quantity is 10 pieces.
Designed for use with CNMG-style toolholders within the Sandvik Coromant T-Max P series. The ISO insert designation is CNMG 12 04 08-QM 235. Consult toolholder documentation to confirm correct seating and clamping configuration before use.
Installation is performed by qualified CNC lathe operators or toolroom machinists. Always power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or replacing inserts. Inspect the insert pocket and clamping components for wear or debris prior to installation. Do not exceed the toolholder manufacturer's specified clamping torque range for CNMG-style inserts.
