The SANDVIK COROMANT 5724750 is a CCMT-style indexable turning insert designed for precision metal cutting on CNC lathes and turning centers. It features a solid carbide substrate with a CVD-applied multilayer coating of TiCN, Al2O3, and TiN, making it well suited for productive cutting in stainless steel and other ISO M-group workpiece materials. The insert carries Sandvik manufacturer grade 2015 and belongs to the CoroTurn 107 series. With a 0.375-inch (3/8 inch) inscribed circle, a 0.365-inch length, and a 0.0156-inch (1/64 inch) corner radius, it delivers consistent edge geometry across two cutting edges per insert.
This insert is intended for use in CoroTurn 107 toolholders that accept CCMT-style inserts with a screw-clamping holding method. Its neutral hand orientation makes it suitable for both external and internal turning operations. The WM chip breaker geometry is optimized for stainless steel and similar difficult-to-machine alloys where chip control is critical. Typical applications include finish to medium turning passes on ISO M-group materials in both light industrial and production machining environments. The wiper edge geometry helps achieve improved surface finish at standard feed rates.
Designed for use in SANDVIK COROMANT CoroTurn 107 toolholders accepting CCMT-style inserts with screw clamping. ISO code CCMT 09 T3 04-WM 2015. Insert size code 32.51. Clearance code C, tolerance code M. Verify toolholder bore and pocket geometry before installation.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians familiar with indexable insert toolholders. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing inserts. Use the correct Torx or hex key to seat and torque the clamping screw to the toolholder manufacturer specification — do not overtighten, as carbide inserts are brittle and can fracture under excessive clamping force. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surface for chips or debris before seating a new insert.
