The SANDVIK COROMANT 5724268 is a solid carbide turning insert in the CCMT32.52-MF 1125 designation, part of the CoroTurn 107 series. It features a PVD-applied TiAlN and AlCr2O3 multilayer coating designed to handle the thermal and abrasive demands of steel and stainless steel turning operations. The insert has an 80-degree diamond shape, a 3/8-inch inscribed circle, and a 1/32-inch corner radius. With a neutral hand orientation, it fits standard CCMT-style toolholders used on CNC lathes and turning centers. The MF chip breaker geometry is suited for light to medium finishing cuts where chip control and surface finish consistency are priorities.
This insert is intended for turning applications on steel and stainless steel workpieces, covering ISO material groups P and M. The CoroTurn 107 series is commonly used in external turning, facing, and profiling operations on CNC lathes in both production and job-shop environments. The screw-clamped holding method provides secure indexing, making this insert appropriate for light finishing passes where edge precision matters. Machinists and CNC operators working with ISO-coded tooling will recognize it by its ISO designation CCMT 09 T3 08-MF 1125.
Designed for use in CCMT-style screw-clamped toolholders within the SANDVIK COROMANT CoroTurn 107 series. ISO designation CCMT 09 T3 08-MF 1125 allows cross-reference with compatible toolholder systems accepting CCMT inserts of this size class.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate Torx or hex key as specified by the toolholder manufacturer when securing the clamping screw - do not overtighten. Inspect the insert seat and clamp for wear or debris before seating a new insert to ensure proper contact and edge stability.
