The SANDVIK COROMANT 5723995 is a CCMT-style indexable turning insert designed for precision external turning operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Manufactured from solid carbide and finished with a PVD-applied TiAlN coating, this insert carries the manufacturer grade 1105 and features an 80-degree diamond (C) shape. With a 1/4-inch inscribed circle (0.2500 inches), an insert thickness of 3/32 inch (0.0938 inches), and a corner radius of 1/64 inch (0.0156 inches), it is engineered for finishing and semi-finishing cuts. A neutral hand orientation makes it suitable for both right- and left-hand toolholder setups. Licensed HVAC machinists and CNC turning specialists specify this insert where tight tolerances and consistent chip control are required.
This insert is part of the CoroTurn 107 series and is primarily rated for machining steel workpieces (ISO P) with secondary suitability for stainless steel (ISO M). The MF chip breaker geometry is optimized for finishing passes where smooth surface finish and reliable chip evacuation are priorities. The screw-in holding method (Clearance Code C, Tolerance Code M) suits standard CCMT-compatible toolholders used in high-production turning environments. It is sold individually but carries a minimum order quantity of 10 units.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement insert for CCMT-compatible screw-clamp turning toolholders within the CoroTurn 107 series. ISO code CCMT 06 02 04-MF 1105 can be used for cross-referencing equivalent inserts from other manufacturers.
Installation should be performed by a qualified CNC machinist or toolroom technician with the machine spindle at a full stop and all energy sources locked out per facility LOTO procedures. Seat the insert fully against the toolholder pocket locating surfaces before tightening the clamping screw to ensure repeatable tool nose position. Inspect the insert seat and screw threads for chips or wear before each index. Follow the toolholder manufacturer torque guidelines for the clamping screw — do not overtighten, as this can fracture the carbide insert.
