The SANDVIK COROMANT 5723841 is a solid carbide, uncoated turning insert designed for precision external turning operations on non-ferrous metal workpieces. Part of the CoroTurn 107 series, this insert features an 80-degree diamond shape (CCMW style) with a neutral hand orientation and a screw-type holding method. The manufacturer grade is CD10, suited for machining non-ferrous materials where a sharp, bright edge is required. The corner radius is 0.0313 inches (1/32 inch), the inscribed circle measures 0.375 inches (3/8 inch), and the insert length is 0.1654 inches. Licensed machinists and CNC turning specialists install this insert in compatible toolholders for high-precision finishing and semi-finishing cuts.
This insert is intended for use in CNC and manual turning applications targeting non-ferrous metals, including aluminum alloys and other N-group workpiece materials. The FP chip breaker geometry supports controlled chip formation during light to medium cutting passes. The CCMW insert style and screw-clamping method make it a standard fit in CoroTurn 107 system toolholders designed for this insert family. The ISO code for this insert is CCMW09T308FP CD10. It is sold individually with a minimum order quantity of 5 pieces.
Designed for use with CoroTurn 107 series toolholders that accept CCMW-style inserts with a screw clamping system. Compatible with turning applications targeting primary workpiece material code N (non-ferrous metals). ISO designation CCMW09T308FP CD10 can be used to cross-reference compatible toolholder specifications.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Always power down and lock out the machine before changing inserts. Seat the insert fully against the pocket locating surfaces before tightening the clamping screw to avoid insert rocking or movement during cutting. Do not exceed the recommended depth of cut or feed rate for the CD10 grade on non-ferrous workpieces, as chipping of the uncoated carbide edge can result from improper parameters.
